Using the beautiful elevation changes and contours of the natural landscape, George Clifton has created Central Florida’s newest golf gem. This 18-hole masterpiece is a combination of beauty and playability, with expansive white sand bunkers and mature true greens, the golfing experience is truly one of a kind.
Laid out through the brand new ChampionsGate Resort community, the golf course is enhanced by the stunning elements of the homes and world class Oasis Club. The club features a four tee system that can accommodate golfers of all levels. The professional tees measure an impressive 7,058 yards and boast a rating of 74.4 and a slope of 134.
The International golf course follows a classical pattern of two out-and-back loops of nine holes, has the look and feel of a links-style layout in the British Isles – except for the addition of water hazards. The course was designed, constructed and seeded to offer a hard, fast playing surface similar to those found on true links courses.
The Greg Norman design features high-side dunes, planted with swirling grasses that grow down literally into the banks of the hazards and to just paces off the fairway. Scattered throughout the course are randomly placed pot bunkers – over 160 in all. Miss hit shots can frequently lead to difficult lies in thick grass in the wind swept dunes, or out of tricky pot bunkers.
This classic American parkland course design has 18 contiguous holes that wind through 200 acres of secluded woodlands, wetlands, and former orange groves. With its lush fairways and greens, and the stunning natural beauty integrated into the design by Greg Norman, playing the National Golf Course is truly an Orlando golf adventure.
The National Course features gently sweeping fairways, 80 sculpted bunkers, greens maintained in tour condition, clever doglegs and scenic water hazards. Water comes into play on many holes, but few forced carries means that this layout can be maneuvered by all levels of players. The sharply framed golf holes end up on smaller greens, making it a shot maker’s delight.
This 18-hole championship course, designed by renowned architect Mike Dasher, will test your game and soothe your senses as it winds its way through land with fresh water creeks, ancient hardwoods and wetlands. While serving as a haven of serenity for local golfers, Providence also provides a refreshing getaway for incoming golf groups, with a location only 15 minutes from Champions Gate.
Dasher has an affection for European style golf courses, and it is evident on some of his unique, undulated greens at Providence. Reviews of this new facility indicate he has surpassed his objective. Providence is a great lower priced course option to save room for some of the higher end courses in Orlando.
